The purpose of this blog is to share information to keep our students, parents and community informed as well as to celebrate the great things going on in the Haleyville City School district. Today's post will hopefully help all of our students and parents plan as we begin these final few weeks of summer. We are excited about the upcoming school year and wanted to share dates and times of events so everyone can attend and prepare for the new year. You will also see information regarding new student enrollment for those who might need this information. #ServeLeadInspire




Haleyville Elementary School
July 27, 2017  Classes will be posted! Stop by HES from 8:00-4:00 to view class lists, pick up schedules and register for PASS school supplies.

August 7, 2017   Kindergarten Kick-Off: All students and parents entering Kindergarten are invited to come to HES from 5:00-6:00 pm for the kick-off. Parents will participate in an orientation and activities will be provided for the kindergarten kids. Kindergarten students can bring school supplies, make deposits into their lunch accounts and get carpool numbers. 

August 8, 2017   Meet the Teacher: All students and parents of students in grades 1-5 are invited to HES to come and meet their teacher from 5:00-7:00 pm. This is a great time to drop off school supplies and make lunch deposits. 

August 10, 2017  First day of School for grades 1-5 and for Kindergarten girls! Kindergarten boys will come on Friday and girls will not attend school on Friday.

August 11, 2017  First day of school for Kindergarten boys! Kindergarten girls will not attend on Friday. All Kindergarten will attend on Monday.

Haleyville Middle School

August 2, 1027  Locker Day at HMS: Students will come to HMS and purchase their locker. Students will need to bring $5.00 for their locker fee. 

August 7, 2017  HMS Open House: All students are parents are welcome to come to HMS from 5:00-7:00 pm to pick up schedules and meet their teachers. There will be a general assembly and then students/parents will follow their schedules to meet teachers.

August 24, 2017 Back to School Nerd Dance: HMS will host a back to school dance from 6:00-8:00 in the gym. Students are encouraged to dress in their best Nerd attire. Admission: $3.00 Concessions will be sold for $1.00 each.

Haleyville High School

August 4, 2017  Locker Rental and Parking Permit Day: HHS students can come to HHS from 9:00-12:00 and get lockers and purchase parking decals in the cafeteria. Lockers are $10.00 and parking decals are $10.00. To purchase a parking decal students need: Drivers License and Proof of Insurance.

August 7, 2017  Open House for HHS: Everyone is encouraged to attend Open House at HHS from 6:00-8:00 pm. There will be a short parent meeting in the gym for all parents and students to attend. Students and parents will then be able to pick up class schedules, student information sheets and Child Nutrition program applications for 2017-2018. Students/parents will then follow the student's class schedule to meet their teachers.

August 10, 2017  First Day of School!

August 17, 2017  Meet the Lions! Come to HHS and meet the Haleyville Lions who participate in all of our Fall Sports at 7:00 pm.


New Student Enrollment Procedures for HCS

For enrollment, all new students must go by the Haleyville City Board of Education office to complete paperwork for verification purposes and provide the following information:

1. Parent/guardian must complete an enrollment form.
2. Official school records from the school last attended will be requested by HES, HMS or HHS.
3. Proof of residency (utility bill, lease agreement, etc. in an appropriate name and with current address.
4. Copy of birth certificate.
5. Students living with someone other than a natural parent must provide documentation of proof of custody and guardianship before enrolling.
6. A copy of Social Security Card.
7. Proof of Alabama immunization (blue card) must be submitted.
8. A copy of parents/guardians driver's license or appropriate identification.

We encourage ALL new students to register on or before August 4, 2017. This ensures that the students's records are complete and the student has been placed in a class and/or given a schedule before the first day of school.
