Excitement is in the air at Haleyville Elementary!  Around every corner you can find someone busily preparing for a new year.  Custodians are putting the final touches on our floors.  Walls are getting fresh paint.  Teachers are working to make sure classrooms will be just perfect for their new students.  By the way…are you on pins and needles to find out who your teacher will be next year? Well, your wait is almost over! Stop by this Thursday, July 27 to view class lists, pick up schedules, register for PASS supplies, and more.

In 14 short days, we will begin our NEW YEAR CELEBRATION!

·      On August 7th, HES welcomes all kindergarten students and parents to attend Kindergarten Kick-Off from 5:00-6:00 PM.  Parents will receive an informative orientation while students kick back and have a good time. Parents will sign in their children at the gym upon arrival.  Faculty and staff will be in the gym to entertain.  Parents will meet in the lunchroom for a short, whole group orientation and then meet with individual teachers. Parents will have the opportunity to ask their teacher questions, provide information, etc.   Kindergarten only will be on campus this night.  Lighter crowds will allow parents and students to then practice walking to class, meet teachers and staff, bring in supplies, pick up a car tag, and tour the campus.

·      On August 8th, HES will host a Meet and Greet for parents and students in PK and 1st through 5th grades.  Drop by anytime between 5 and 7 PM to meet your teachers, bring supplies, or make lunch deposits.

·      On August 10th and 11th, HES will CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR with rallies, read alouds, and lots of fun! We want to set the tone for an awesome year.  We will focus on our Lion Pride beliefs: Performance, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Engagement.

·      Kindergarten Phase-In will take place August 10th and 11th.  Girls only on Thursday, August 10th. Boys only on August 11th.  All kindergarten beginning on Monday, August 14th.  Parents may walk students to their classrooms during phase-in.  Beginning on Monday, all HES students should be dropped off in the car line.

We are looking forward to a great year! If you have any questions, please feel free to call the HES office at 205-486-3405.  We will see you all soon!
